Claims police refused to help

YouTuber Kanika Devrani has alleged that she and her co-passengers were drugged and robbed during a train journey on the Brahmaputra Mail. The incident, according to her, took place while the train was halted at New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station (NJP) in West Bengal (West Bengal).

Her video, posted on Instagram (Instagram) with the caption “Travel safe,” has triggered concerns online about railway safety. Several users have tagged the IRCTC (IRCTC) and West Bengal Police and urged them to look into the matter.She claims she was travelling in a 2AC coach when a stranger without a valid ticket entered the compartment. The man allegedly interacted with a few passengers while walking through the coach.

She added, “Someone came to my berth, my phone was under my pillow, and took it. First of all, how can the Railways staff let in someone unknown without a ticket? I don’t know who the person is.”Devrani alleges that not just her phone but another co-passenger’s mobile was also stolen in a similar fashion. “He also stole another passenger’s phone. I woke up to the noise of people talking about theft. It was then I realised my phone is nowhere to be found.”

The situation became more unnerving when she received information from her mother. “Someone claiming to be an RPF(RPF) official later called my mother from my phone and asked for the password,” she alleged. She further claimed that the police refused to help her.
