बिहारचे माजी उपमुख्यमंत्री आणि माजी राज्यसभा खासदार सुशील कुमार मोदी यांचे आज (१३ मे) निधन झाले. दिल्ली एम्समध्ये त्यांनी अखेरचा श्वास घेतला. घशाच्या कर्करोगाने ग्रस्त होते. सुशील कुमार मोदी यांच्यावर दिल्ली एम्समध्ये उपचार सुरू होते. सुशील कुमार मोदींनी काही दिवसांपूर्वी कॅन्सरची माहिती दिली होती. लोकसभा निवडणुकीदरम्यान सुशील कुमार मोदी यांचे निधन हा बिहार भाजप तसेच राष्ट्रीय नेतृत्वासाठी मोठा धक्का आहे. त्यांची पक्षातील सक्रियता विशेष आहे. उपमुख्यमंत्री व्यतिरिक्त ते राज्यसभेचे खासदारही राहिले आहेत. तीन दशकांच्या सार्वजनिक जीवनात ते राज्यसभा, लोकसभा, विधानपरिषद आणि विधानसभेच्या चारही सभागृहांचे सदस्य होते.
