

Bhiwandi : The Shantinagar police have arrested two individuals involved in defrauding people by skillfully swapping their ATM cards. The police successfully seized a total of 35 ATM cards from different banks along with cash. This information was shared by Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad during a press conference.
The incident took place at Bage Firdaus, where Abu Shahma Abdullah Ansari had gone to withdraw cash from an ATM. Taking advantage of a momentary distraction, the accused swapped his ATM card and noted his PIN. They then withdrew ₹14,000 from his bank account, deceiving him.
While investigating the case, a police team led by Assistant Police Inspector Suresh Chopde gathered intelligence through informants and apprehended two suspects—Abulbashar Rais Khan and Mohammad Hashim Hayatullah Shah, both residents of Gaibinagar, Bhiwandi. Upon investigation, the police found 35 ATM cards from various banks and ₹5,100 in cash in their possession.
During intense questioning, the accused confessed to their crime. The Shantinagar police have arrested them, and they were presented before the court, which has remanded them to police custody until February 24. This was confirmed by Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad.
